SBB is the backbone of the Swiss public transport system, and day-to-day rail operations are the basis of what we do. Every day, we transport 1.25 million passengers and over 200,000 tonnes of freight. More than 32,000 SBB employees work every day to maintain and further improve the punctuality and reliability of the rail. It is also our responsibility to look beyond our day-to-day business and identify changes being brought about by technology and digitisation so that we can shape the mobility of the future. Promoting the quality of life and competitive edge of Switzerland and its regions.
We are taking part in Digital Day because digitisation changes our society, economy and, in particular, mobility. It is hugely important for our country. As a mobility company that offers integrated and networked mobility along the entire door-to-door travel chain, we draw on the strengths of the rail and the potential offered by digitisation to create added value for our customers. On 3 September, we are inviting people of all ages to our Zurich, Lugano, Lausanne and Basel (including Meret Oppenheim Platz) stations to experience what digital means together. To the website
